How does the commission process work?

The first thing we will establish is the type of painting you are after and agree on a reference photo. Then we will discuss canvas sizes and pricings and some finer details. Once all this has been agreed, I will ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit. This deposit will secure your place on my waiting list if I have one and also to cover costs if, for whatever reason, I do not receive the full amount for the painting. From that point I will get started and send you photos of your painting in progress to keep you updated with the process. Once I am finished and you are happy with your painting, I will invoice you for the final payment. Once I have received this I will get your custom painting packaged and posted to you!

How long do commissions take?

Although time to complete each individual commission will vary depending on the specific details of the painting, the time between the initial payment to receiving your commissioned painting is usually 1-4 weeks. If I have a longer waiting list (usually around busy times of year such as Christmas for example) then this can be longer.

Paintings with fewer subjects and less detailed backgrounds are typically completed faster than paintings with multiple subjects and detailed backgrounds.

How do I get started?

All it takes is a message letting me know that you are interested to get started and I can guide you through the rest of the process.

To speed the process up, you can send me any photos you would be interested in having painted, a canvas size from above/ a bespoke size and any additional details you are wanting (background detail, no collar/ harness etc.).

What if I would like a different size to those offered?

I am happy to accommodate bespoke sizes, however, these will come with a slight extra cost. To get a bespoke painting, just let me know the rough size of canvas you are after, and I will do my best to find the size that you are looking for. I will give you a quote for your painting and once we agree on a price, the rest of the commission process is the same as normal!
